Our Mission
Make typing measurement simple and honest. We built WPMTestNow because most typing sites are cluttered, slow, or gamified in ways that skew scores. Our goal is a quick, ad-free test that reflects how you really type at work or school.
How Our Typing Tests Work
Scoring
- Standard WPM: 5 characters = 1 word.
- Gross WPM: every character you type, converted to words.
- Net WPM: only correct characters aligned to the passage (the score that matters most).
- Accuracy: correct ÷ total typed.
Why net WPM?
Net WPM discounts mistakes, so it tracks true, real-world speed. We show gross WPM for context, but we highlight net WPM in results and leader messages.
Tip: Hold 95%+ accuracy on practice runs, then increase pace.
